Arsenal are Semi-Final Bound with Emphatic 5-1 Aggregate Win Over Madrid

UCL: Arsenal Advance to Semi-Finals with Dominant 5-1 Aggregate Win Over Real Madrid

Arsenal booked their place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals with a comprehensive 5-1 aggregate victory over Real Madrid, capping it off with a 2-1 win in the second leg on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Carrying a 3-0 advantage from the first leg, the Gunners maintained control throughout the tie despite an early scare, including a missed penalty from Bukayo Saka in the 13th minute.

The first half ended goalless, though tempers flared early as David Alaba and Raul Asensio were cautioned in the 4th and 11th minutes, respectively. Arsenal keeper David Raya also went into the book in the 36th minute.

Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, with Saka redeeming himself by finishing off a well-placed pass from Mikel Merino. Real Madrid hit back just two minutes later as Vinícius Júnior equalized in the 67th.

The game remained tense until stoppage time, when Gabriel Martinelli sealed the win with a goal in the 93rd minute, once again assisted by the impressive Merino.

Late yellow cards were issued to Antonio Rüdiger and Thomas Partey in the 85th minute, but the result was never in doubt as Arsenal secured a well-earned victory and a spot in the last four.
