Created by Femi Adebayo, Seven Doors is a Nigerian drama limited series available on Netflix that explores the rich history and culture of 18th– and 19th-century Nigeria.
Set in Ilara, Ondo State, the series follows the journey of Adedunjoye (portrayed by Femi Adebayo), a man reluctantly thrust into kingship. As King of Ilara Kingdom, Adedunjoye faces political opposition, familial challenges, and supernatural turmoil.
The story takes a dramatic turn when the chief priest reveals that the misfortunes plaguing the kingdom and the royal household can only be resolved by opening seven symbolic doors, each representing a wife. Adedunjoye’s refusal to comply leads to further chaos, including the tragic death of his daughter.
