Tems Bags Historic win at the Grammy Awards for the Second time
Tems has just added another Grammy to her growing list of achievements. At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, she won Best African Music Performance for her hit song “Love Me JeJe.” This marks her second Grammy win, made even more meaningful as it coincides with her mother’s birthday tomorrow.
In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Tems expressed her gratitude:
“Dear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and bringing me this team. Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday, and this is her first Grammys. I just want to thank you, mum, because she’s really done a lot for me and my brother. I want to thank my team—thank you so much. To God be the glory, because honestly, He’s changed my life so much. Thank you so much. Thank you, God.”
This latest win further cements Tems’ impressive Grammy journey. She first won in 2023 at the 65th Annual Grammys, taking home Best Melodic Rap Performance for her collaboration on Future’s “Wait For You” featuring Drake. Now, in 2025, she has accumulated eight Grammy nominations, with “Love Me JeJe” securing the Best African Music Performance award. She’s also nominated for Best R&B Song with “Burning” and Best Global Music Album for “Born in the Wild.”
