Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as Tuface Idibia or 2Baba, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer born on September 18, 1975, in Jos, Plateau State. He grew up in a family of six and attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State.
Tuface began his music career in the 1990s as a member of the boy band Plantashun Boiz. After the group disbanded, he pursued a solo career and released his debut album, “Face 2 Face,” in 2004. The album was a massive success, featuring hit tracks like “African Queen,” “Ole,” and “Right Here.” His unique blend of Afrobeat, reggae, and R&B, combined with his soulful voice and socially conscious lyrics, quickly established him as a leading figure in the Nigerian music industry.
Throughout his career, Tuface has released several critically acclaimed albums, including “Grass to Grace” (2006), “The Unstoppable” (2008), and “The Ascension” (2014). He has won numerous awards, such as the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act (2005), multiple Headies Awards, and the BET Award for Best International Act: Africa (2011).
Beyond his musical achievements, Tuface is known for his philanthropic work and social activism. He has been a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the World Food Programme and has used his platform to advocate for various causes, including youth empowerment, peace, and good governance.
