When was Jesus born?
When was the Word made flesh among us?
Autumn.
Accuracy IS important.
Here is an example of agricultural history in Israel along with some other details.
Shepherds would not have been out in the hill country pastures with their sheep at night in winter. There are certain times of year for grazing certain parcels of land. In the growing season, livestock is kept off of grain pastures.
Luke 2:8 provides this bit of info: flocks were still out in the fields at night when the angel appeared to the shepherds, announcing the birth of Jesus. Flocks were brought in for the winter season of mid-October to mid-March.

We know Jesus was born six months after John the Baptist (Luke 1:24-26, 36). The question then becomes, when was John the Baptist conceived? Because Zacharias’ priestly functions were carried out during the course of Abijah, at the time of the angel’s appearance (Luke 1:5-20), John’s conception occurred in mid-June, as verses 23-24 indicate. Thus, he would have been born in about mid-March. Therefore, Christ’s birth had to be in early autumn.
Here is an additional clue.
At the time of Christ’s birth, the area of Jerusalem was very crowded with visitors, because of the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). People took advantage of this journey to Jerusalem to pay their taxes (Luke 2:1-5), as they were collected at this time of the year.
Leviticus 23:24-40 proves that the seventh month was the time in question. When we combine Luke 2:1-5 and John 7:2-10 we see evidence of Jesus’ parents traveling to Jerusalem for the spring and fall Holy Days.
While there is ZERO evidence of Christ being born in the winter and on December 25th, there is abundant evidence of His early autumn birth.
The ‘world’ church celebrates Christ’s birth in the winter pagan Yule “season”. Why? Because the church has become like the world, taking on it’s customs, traditions and holidays, IGNORING the Bible’s warning not to do so.
Nowhere in the New Testament is there a directive to make a celebration of Jesus’ birth, and the early Church did not do this.
Those early Christians knew that birthday celebrations were directly tied to pagan astrology.
The Church has done the same thing Solomon did, exchanging the truth for paganism, willingly ‘Christianizing’ pagan holidays and not just this one.
However, no amount of church soap can make an unclean thing clean.
Paganism, deeply embedded in the Roman Catholic Church, brought pagan practices in and ‘paganized’ their already compromised strain of ‘Christianity’. Pagan influence was then injected into protestant churches to the extent today that the Church today decks its halls and sanctuary with pagan trimmings.
Confronted with the truth, they issue an angry defense and claim ‘higher ground’ by saying it doesn’t matter when Jesus was born.
More accurately, TRUTH doesn’t matter to them. But the truth-bomb remains: You cannot ‘keep’ Jesus Christ in Christmas, because He was never in it to begin with.
